In Gnome Town, the player was tasked with saving the Enchanted Forest and Defeating the Evil Gnome by rebuilding Gnome Town. Along the way the player would free forest critters from the grasp of the Evil Gnome and they in turn would help rebuild the town and defeat the Evil Gnome.
Gnome Town was the first Facebook game released under the Disney brand, and exceeded all expectations for the game. It was in Live Operations for 2 years and had a peak of 500k DAUs.
I worked on Gnome Town from May 2011 – Jan 2012 as an Associate Product Manager. While working on the game, my responsibilities included:
- Developed and implemented two-thirds of the game content and design including questlines and text
- Under guidance, established the content creation pipeline
- Helped guide the game through localization into German and French
- Directly managed outsourced QA team throughout development and live operations of the game
